The Library subscribes to a limited number of Australian and New Zealand Occupational Health and Safety standards through the SAI Global database.

Why would you want to use a standard?

Risk management for Exercise Science has become increasingly important with the expansion of the leisure, fitness and sports industries. Everywhere from the gym, the research clinic, the outdoor recreation site and the sporting event, risks and hazards are things which need to be addressed for the well-being and safety of all participants and spectators.

As a legal framework, the Risk Management Standard has implications in legal liability, sports law, event management and research practice and is an important resource for all involved in the industry, particularly managers [from Brown, S. (2001) Introduction to Exercise Science Baltimore: Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins].

Go to SAI Global database and select AS/NZS 4360:2004 to view or save the risk management standard.
