Escape eBook Challenge

April 24, 2012 – 10:01 am
ACULibrary

What?

Challenge no. 1:  We want to write a collaborative story online, and hit a record for the highest number of contributing authors. The story will be based on the National Year of Reading theme for May – “escape”.

Challenge no. 2:  We want to pit ACU campuses against each other – may the most enthusiastic campus win!

When?

The opening paragraph will be posted on Monday 30 April. Anyone may contribute a sentence or paragraph up until Friday 11 May.

How?

  1. Go to the Escape ebook Challenge event on the ACU library Facebook page (on or after April 30).
  2. Continue the story by commenting (up until May 11).
  3. Add your campus to the end of your comment (so your campus library can win a morning tea).

Remember to read what has been written in the comments before you, so the story flows!

Prizes, prizes, prizes

  1. First prize is an iPod nano with a $25 iTunes gift card.
  2. Two runners up receive a National Year of Reading prize pack.
  3. The campus with the most entries (compared to FTE student enrolment) wins a catered morning tea held in the Library to celebrate your victory.

Details

Only ACU students and staff who are over 18 can participate.

By participating in the Escape ebook challenge you:

  • consent to enter into, and accept the terms and conditions on the Guinness World Record website.
  • grant ACU the right to store, make permanently available, free online public access to your contribution
  • declare that you own the copyright for the material you are contributing and you understand that ACU does not assume any responsibility if there is any breach of copyright in distributing it.

For prizes 1 & 2, a name will be drawn randomly from all participants. For prize 3, the campus with the highest percentage of entrants (compared to FTE student enrolment) will win the morning tea.

Prizes sponsored by ACU Library and Monitor Business Machines, specialists in expense management solutions for education.
