Opening hours!

June 5, 2012 – 10:31 am
ACULibrary

ACU campus libraries will be closed for the Queen’s Birthday public holiday, Monday 11th June. But we are open for normal weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday, so please check the opening hours for the right times for your campus.

Why is the Queen’s Birthday a public holiday?

Australia is a constitutional monarchy, hence a member of the Commonweath of Nations. In Australia, the day has been celebrated since 1788, when Governor Arthur Phillip declared a holiday to mark the birthday of King George III. For further background, check out this Queen’s Birthday in Australia webpage. This year’s Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday has additional special significance as 2012 marks the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

And as semester 1 finishes, some of our opening hours change, so again, please check opening hours before you make the trip.
