Not just for education…

EduTV is huge! There is an impression that EduTV is only for education, but it covers a wide range of topics – in fact, nearly anything that has been screened on TV!

From the vendor … “Informit EduTV makes it easy for lecturers and students to find and instantly watch relevant television content. 10,000 programs including documentaries, drama and series complemented with study guides and articles are accessible via computer, tablet or smartphone”.

So EduTV has educational documentaries, whereas TVNews has news & current affairs programs from the Australian free-to-air networks providing access to video content. Updated daily.

What is the program overlap between Informit TVNews and Informit EduTV?

TVNews provides access to news and current affairs programs. EduTV streams educational programs such as documentaries, current affairs, series, and the like. There is minimal overlap of programs across both products. [from Informit FAQs].

The programs that overlap include:

  • – Compass
  • – Foreign Correspondent
  • – Four Corners
  • – Living Black

*We know you can use iView to catch up on ABC programs you may have missed, but they don’t hang around forever. For instance you can view in TVNews Four Corners programs from 2007!
