We departed the beautiful setting of Patmos to continue our journey by ferry to our final Greek destination. On arrival into Kos, we took the opportunity to visit the Tree of Hippocrates, under which, according to legend, Hippocrates (considered the father of medicine) taught his pupils the art of medicine. Saint Paul purportedly taught here as well.
We then took the opportunity to celebrate Sunday Mass at the local Catholic Church, and was pleasantly surprised to find out that the parish was under the care of the Franciscan Friars. Fr Harry was certainly chuffed by the coincidence.
Our time in Kos brought to a close the Greek component of our pilgrimage as we began to turn our attention to Poland and all that awaits there.
